HR & CAREERS

ABOUT

HR & CAREERS

With people being at the heart of a functioning workforce, HR & Careers is a critical yet sometimes hidden field. The HR & Careers field is largely centred on employees and managing employees within organisations, seeking to make employees unique, valuable assets within their organisations. HR generally involves a process of recruiting, selecting, hiring, and training employees, and performance management. With an ability to span multiple sectors including finance, retail, IT, education, not for profit and more, a career in HR is unique and highly sought after. HR is one of the majors offered at Deakin University and is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute. In 2022, the HR & Careers Division aims to deliver exciting, memorable and beneficial opportunities for students in the form of engaging HR Panels, interactive Resume/CV Workshops, Revision Lectures and more.

RESUME/CV WORKSHOP

This event will help students build valuable, lifelong skills, distinguishing themselves when applying for roles within the competitive job sphere. By equipping students so they are best positioned to take the next step in their professional journeys, this event aims ultimately to help undergraduates to secure their dream roles in the future.

JULY 17

HR PANEL

An engaging panel which captures both the graduate and recruiter perspective regarding a career in HR, as well as the recruitment and selection process associated with it. With the HR field being a fairly niche area, this event will help to broaden student awareness and knowledge, potentially inspiring students to complete this major.
